ABOUT THE AIRPORT

Situated on nearly 200 acres, Floyd W. Jones Lebanon Airport (LBO) is an active general aviation airport, owned and operated by the City of Lebanon. LBO supports local aviation services, such as flight trainingcorporate travel, and medical airlift, while providing amenities such as fuel, courtesy transportation, and aircraft maintenance. A recent study calculated LBO’s annual economic impact at $2.26 million for the local economy while providing 27 jobs with a payroll of $676,000. The airport is part of the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS) and receives federal funding for capital improvements. Facilities at the airport include a 2,600-square-foot passenger terminal, aircraft storage hangars, and an on-airport weather reporting station.

WHAT IS A MASTER PLAN?

The Master Plan follows a structure established by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Key components of the study including the aviation demand forecasts and the Airport Layout Plan (ALP) drawing set (technical drawings of the current and planned airport layout) will ultimately be reviewed and approved by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and the FAA.

WHY UPDATE THE PLAN?

The City of Lebanon is undertaking an update of the Airport Master Plan, which was last prepared in 2003, to evaluate the airport’s capabilities and role, to forecast future aviation demand, to plan for the timely development of new or expanded facilities that will meet demand and FAA design standards, and to strive for economic self-sufficiency.

Draft project materials will be made available on this site at various points throughout the planning process to allow the public to review materials and provide comments to the planning consultant. The project will be closely coordinated with the Airport Advisory Board, which will be giving direction to the master plan recommendations, before going to City Council for final approval.
